Hi, I’m Danika Markey!
I am a proud Mexican-American woman, educator, creator, entrepreneur, sports enthusiast, yogi, wanderluster whose passion is making people smile and feel loved. I have been planning and hosting events and celebrations in my family and friends lives for many years. I have done it all….birthdays, graduations, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, weddings, baby showers, baptisms, anniversaries, retirements and just because parties! I meticulously design every detail for the honoree’s celebration.
“In the wake of the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic and mandatory stay-at-home orders, my Mom’s 69th Birthday in April 2020 was sure to be uneventful. Despite all of the sadness and uncertainty, I wanted my Mom to smile and feel loved on her birthday, even if we could not celebrate in person. I was on a mission to surprise my Mom with a yard greeting and car parade in San Diego, which was no easy feat. At the time there was only one yard greeting business in San Diego and they only serviced North County! Luckily the company was available and all of my Mom’s family and friends celebrated her 69th birthday in the biggest and most memorable way, from a distance of course!”

I began thinking...with social distancing and no other yard greeting businesses in Greater San Diego, how could I help other people celebrate milestones in their family and friends lives? It was simple, I had to open a yard greeting business in my area.
One night I was trying to come up with the business name and just could not think of anything. I was stuck. A family friend was over that night and asked me an important question, “What is something that will represent you and help tell your story through your family name?” I replied, “Markey! Oh…a Marquee!” He continued, “And what is a Marquee?” Of course, it is a grand announcement, a greeting! And thanks to the support of my Family, so began...
